This week we read three book about voting for a president!
Each day we read a different book and recorded our thinking on a character comparison chart. We wrote down qualities that students thought made the character a good candidate for president. After we read all three books students made posters and campaign signs for the character they would choose for president. On Thursday, students shared with one another why they thought their character would make a good president. Then each group made up a cheer to perform at the "rally". It was awesome. The kids had a good time and they were so thoughtful in making their decision. A few friends changed their minds after hearing why other's wanted to vote for a character candidate. Then each student enjoyed making their very own voter registration cards. They learned what qualifies someone to vote in the United States of America. We then had fun making up our own 1W rules and all voted at the 1W poll. Next week we will tally the votes and share the results. I bet you can't w
