This fall, our class will be joining kids across the country to side with either cats or dogs in a pledge to read every day to help make their team reading champions- while also helping to donate 250,000 books to kids in need. And to get in on the fun, all your child has to do is read at home for at least 20 minutes each day.
It’s all part of an exciting reading campaign called Paws for Reading that helps parents make reading at home both fun and exciting for their kids. Your child tracks their time spent with a book (or eBook) and then logs their reading minutes at the Paws for Reading website. And a child in need gets a book of their own, no matter which furry pet team comes out ahead.

Happy reading at home, and may the best pet win!

For every 20 minutes your child reads, Scholastic Book Clubs ClassroomsCare will donate a book to a child in need through their literacy partners!*
